A Rites of Passage
A sanctuary for Black girls aged 13-17
Empowering Our Girls
Blueprint for Womanhood provides a sanctuary for Black girls aged 13-17, offering culturally relevant rites-of-passage rooted in community and identity. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where our girls can explore their identities without the pressures of performance or achievement.
Through reflection and intentional care, we guide them through the transition into womanhood, honoring the richness of their experiences and cultivating a sense of belonging. We envision a space where young women thrive, supported by their community, enhancing their growth and strength.

Program Overview
The program is facilitated by Black women professionals, elders, artists, and community leaders who volunteer their time and wisdom as trusted guides. Together, they create an environment where girls are encouraged to reflect, speak, listen, question, and grow.

Blueprint for Womanhood is guided by Black women professionals, elders, artists, healers, and community leaders who volunteer their time and wisdom as trusted guides. Each facilitator brings lived experience, cultural knowledge, and care—creating a learning environment rooted in respect, accountability, and love.
Our guides are not instructors delivering information. They are mentors holding space, modeling integrity, and walking alongside girls as they reflect, question, and grow.
-
The program unfolds over twelve weeks through a blend of group dialogue, cultural learning, creative expression, reflection, and ceremony. Sessions are designed to engage the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and community—rather than rushing girls through content.
Learning happens through storytelling, discussion, journaling, art, movement, and shared rituals that honor each girl’s pace and readiness.
-
Girls experience a safe, affirming space where they are seen, heard, and valued. They are encouraged to speak their truth, listen deeply, build confidence, and develop a stronger sense of self and belonging.
Through sisterhood and guidance, participants gain tools for self-awareness, healthy communication, leadership, and cultural pride—leaving the program grounded, supported, and more confident in who they are becoming.
